Cherry blossom season is short (~10 days) and notoriously hard to predict — we monitor the forecast through March and shift dates as needed. Tokyo first, then bullet train to Kyoto for the temples and gardens at peak bloom.

Itinerary at a glance

  1. Day 1-4

    Tokyo

    Shibuya, Asakusa, Tsukiji, Meiji Shrine, day trip to Hakone for Mt. Fuji + onsen.

  2. Day 5

    Bullet train to Kyoto

    Shinkansen takes 2h15. Afternoon arrival, dinner in Gion.

  3. Day 6-7

    Kyoto

    Fushimi Inari, Arashiyama bamboo, Philosopher's Path during peak bloom.

  4. Day 8

    Day trip to Nara

    Deer park, Todai-ji big Buddha, return to Kyoto for last night.

  5. Day 9

    Fly home

    Train back to Tokyo Haneda or Osaka Kansai for departure.
